"If it bleeds, we can kill it"

So braving sub zero temperatures we all hiked up our bags and did some Warmachine mayhem:

I ran my usual list: with mixed results:

Ravyn, Eternal Light (*6pts)
* Griffon (4pts)
* Manticore (8pts)
Dawnguard Invictors (Leader and 5 Grunts) (6pts)
* Dawnguard Invictor Officer & Standard (2pts)
Lady Aiyana & Master Holt (4pts)
Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
* Mage Hunter Commander (2pts)
Arcanist (1pts)
Eiryss, Angel of Retribution (3pts)
Narn, Mage Hunter of Ios (3pts)

Played against Chad's fully painted trolls, too bad he doesn't like pics of his figs posted. Perhaps he feels the pics will steal his fig's souls...  He's a great painter and just found out he sold his old Cygnar to Romeo of Battlefoam for a hefty sum...  Hmm, perhaps I'm in the wrong line of work...

Lesson learned: focus more fire into the Kriel stone and sometimes 16' range shooting can be too much range.

Next two games were with Mike's Legion of Everblight.  Did my first turn one casterkill, He didn't realize that the Mage Hunter Strikeforce can shoot through buildings and ignore cover when they got a UA.  I felt kinda dirty afterwards so we did a quick rematch.  This time, held back the reins and let the big land shark beasties have some fun before putting them down.  Mike took the Typhoon and a Carnivean.  I was dreading their spray attacks and coupled with Prime Lylyth's nasty feat he was able to grab my Manticore and chuck it back at poor Ravyn.

Now for some pics, Paul took some pics of Todd's Cryx nasties. Todd's an awesome player who likes to dress up as the Predator from time to time.

Hmm, this guy just drags people towards Terminus most of the time.

Tartar-sauce.... This guy is a punk!

Mr. Suave's shiny new toy... too bad Molik Karn ate it shortly after...
Oh almost forgot... the night ended with the 15min, 15pt challenge of Pras' Skorne vs. Paul's Retribution of Jolina.  Everyone was watching every move as Pras wanted to give up when a Mage Hunter Assassin nuked his shiny new totem hunter.  Only to be encourged by ten players in chorus... "Molik Karn lives! he can save the day..."  So after Savagery, Carnage and a host of shenanigans the body count was Eiryss, a Ghost Sniper, and Discordia dead, all within the span of one activation...

Now Paul was like omg I lost... but everyone was like "You have Garryth!!! GALLOWS!!!" lol so Paul's turn, moves up... casts Gallows on Makeda drags her a decent 4' into melee range then the suspense started...

Then the dice gods were cruel.... all the attacks wifted or didn't do enough damage... groans and cheers passed all around... so firm handshakes shared, and Pras had tears of joy in eyes.

Awesome! Very nice pics for the blog!

I am digging the baroque freehand swirls on the Cryx army! That would be a joy to fight against!
