"Arrow to the Knee!!!"

First of all, many thanks to Chad, Shane, Vic and arch-fiend Paulo for the awesome re-intro game.

So after many moons, I finally found Chad's missing bodies and hey what the heck... It's sunny, lots of girls in short shorts about, so time to go outside.  The trip was uneventful with no creepy old crone women cutting in front of the transit line this time.

After a trip to the Mcdo, got to the shop and wow, it's bloody cold in there.  My nose started running corrosion after the first hour or two in there.  Anyways Chad's trolls were in a nasty game with Nav's Skorne.  Suddenly an immediate flashback of Mulg splattering Ravyn multiple times on his mace.  Paulo was critiquing more models for having 'small or crappy hands.' Vic was helping playtest some type of dungeon crawler game one of the locals is developing.

So my initial idea was to mope around, heckle and watch, then Chad goes... "Why don't you play?"  Hmmm, I guess so... I have no idea what I'm doing but it will be fun.  So he made the list, and we were able to goad Paulo into trying out the Stormwall Colossal, despite it's "inferior hands."

Paulo playing with the little lightning pod things.
"Now these things need better hands..."
Right of the bat, that colossal model is damned impressive.  Some guy was detailing an airbrushed Mountain King nearby, but didn't want to intrude on his painting.  But yeah, despite the almost GW-ish monster price tag on the Stormwall, it ain't fail-cast.  The model looks badass, it weighs just right, however it has crappy hands.  Can't wait to see all the others, especially the Menoth one.

That's no jack... it's a space sta... erm, COLOSSAL!!!
I won the roll and choose to deploy first but learned that the big stuff had to deploy first anyways.  Paulo had a plan, I sorta just mish-mashed my guys around... MHSF on the left flank, Sentinels in the middle, and the trio of disaster, Narn, eEiyrss and a MHA on the right flank hiding in a wood... They were promptly wiped out when a lighting pod dropped in their midst.

Paulo's deployment.  Very symmetrical, Vic and Death the Kid would be proud.
Narn's all "what's that?"
Eiyriss, "must be some human tech, it's harmless, look it didn't even explode, let's just smoke more elf weed while we're in here... cuz they can't see us..."

Then friggin dark force emperor lightning bolts from hell erupt from one of the disco balls and fries the three of them dead silly.

First turn positioning of a veteran Noob...
see Narn, Eiyrss and the MHA having a picnic in the right woods
After a very 40k's turn of activation from me it all started coming back despite some confusion on LOS rules governing the big models.  Tried an early move up snipe on the MHSF to get Old Man Nemo and his 'young lady ass-istant, but rather chunky rolling left only doing 3 dmg on Electical Lolo...

As the game went on, I just wanted to kill that big robot... so despite other more sound options, we went for killing the Stormwall.  Shane suggested Vortex and oh yeah, so ran up Ravyn, and boom boosted dmg on the Colossal.  So the MHSF did spectacular but in the end, Holt activated slow-mo bullettime and bang shot the blue monstrosity in the face and then there was much rejoicing.

AIM FOR THE KNEE!!!!!!
Bullet time! - Holt
In the end, lightning shenanigans with Nemo's feat meant doom for Ravyn, despite having def and arm buff on her, when arcing lightning bolts auto-hit you, your friends become liabilities.

Chad's MSFH, man he's an awesome and efficient painter.
Do truly admire Chad's painting and teaching skills and the sport of Shane, Vic and Paulo for tolerating my lame jokes and for a great time.  I'm so glad to be back.

Lesson: Lighting will fry your friends.
